STAGIONE LIRICA TEATRO POLITEAMA
This editorial project documents the 2023 opera season at Teatro Politeama Greco, following productions including Carmen, La Traviata and Madama Butterfly. The work was developed with full access to rehearsals, dressing rooms and backstage areas, allowing the photographic narrative to move beyond the official performance and focus on what happens before and during the staging of an opera. Rather than documenting the spectacle alone, the project explores preparation, waiting, concentration and the human dimension behind the scenes. By privileging rehearsal moments and backstage dynamics, the images construct a layered narrative that reveals the tension, intimacy and collective effort that precede the public performance, offering a more immersive and authentic perspective on the operatic experience.
